If it was a non starter, it would have been closed. Simply a lack of developer interest / priority / time to implement.

We'd need a full build log with --jobs=1 (or -j1 if your using make command) but I'd suspect that your either missing a dependency or one of the tools in...

Don't use the same source folder on 2 machines. Use 2 separate copies of the source. Keep it local, avoid shares or mounts. We've only tested this on 20.04 LTS....
