Agreed, it looks like that line will cause a -Inf to be treated as if it was an overflow a few lines below and return an error.
I think the default behavior of normalizing line endings (do we have \n on Mac/Linux and \r\n on Windows) is the most convenient and we shouldn’t change it using .gitattributes....
