@josch having this exposed over a GSettings toggle seems slighty dangerous, since GSettings might rely (depending on the used backend) on dbus. Maybe a command line toggle or env var...

Look if dmesg has any relevant output. Otherwise try reading the device exposed by hid-nintendo using /usr/bin/evdev directly (you might need to run it as superuser tho)

ah yes, thats what also imagined. I personally find it unnecessary to disable it by default it should be obvious that the audio quality will degrade in this case.
