Likely not for large illustrations but of you are designing simple SVG icons for example, which might only be a couple objects, it is useful to see the XML in...

@anaknaga if you want to dig up those icons, add them to this bug in the form of a checklist.

@anaknaga most of these will just be symlinks anyway.
