Well on GNOME shell you wouldn't need Faba-Mono.
Are you using vanilla GNOME?
It's a fork of the elementary theme, which is targeted for the Pantheon desktop.
This was more of a one-off theme than something I want to maintain extensively and starting down that route would be a lot of extra work.
I have a couple other GTK and icon themes that I maintain, is all. ;)
