I just experienced this issue during development. It was pretty surprising that the set-value call was deleting my data :| At least an option to toggle this would be nice...
Sounds like it could work. I'll try out using the custom types and see how that goes, and I'll post some code as soon as I get it working

@alfreema I had this same issue. I tried adding await to the new Pool call, and can confirm it did fix it for me. Thanks a bunch for the work...
The only real downside I see with that approach is that it adds the overhead of having to do Object.keys(result).length, which involves iterating and counting all of the keys returned....
