Tested running `TERM=xterm 123` Then it works fine in fbterm. And apart from more colors than 16, fbterm is supposedly pretty compatible with xterm, so that's a decent workaround.

That is currently handled by -c lower and -c upper, is it not? If possible, I would have the default handle both, and the -c options force it to either....
