This is a duplicate of #8437 and can happen on modifier changes. the normal workaround of moving the cursor to the server and toggling the modifier should work also.
Sorry misread as client unsynced... I am not able to reproduce this one . I have server running its connected i lock my screen mash caps locks unlock and caps...
Nope i don't use Gnome.. perhaps its a Gnome issue ? Ill try to spin up a fedora (gnome) vm and see if i can repo it there.

I seam to see this on windows the first time i connect a client to a server but its just locks up. Any updates on this @nbolton ?
idk when i test the portable (or installed version ) the first time i connect i see that dialog but its just blank and i have to kill deskflow then...
