I made a PR to fix it 9 months ago, nothing happened yet https://github.com/grpc/grpc/pull/35404 maybe Google has no interest in maintaining PHP extension anymore 😅

@feuzeu pecl compiles grpc, abseil and all depending c packages. the snippet there uses dynamic linking against operating system gRPC, therefore **only** php specific code needs to be compiled

We don't want to support the extension manager in the admin at paas. It's bad practise to manage the extensions at runtime and avoid the deployment step. I don't would...
