Yes, that does seem to be the issue. Even if you set the option - generateResolvConf = false as it recommends, if you shutdown and restart WSL it resets it...
It seems I misread the instructions on where to set the generateResolvConf. You need to set this option in wsl.conf and not resolv.conf (as I did by mistake). But next...
