We don't use our own miniupnp fork anymore, please submit the miniupnp changes upstream.

It was considered finished and we planned to include it in the last release but moneromooo had concerns with the approach used so it got redone.
I wouldn't close it yet.
Did you regularly check? I don't think there are too many I2P connections used currently, most use Tor.
Did you test with i2p-zero? So that you can make sure it isn't i2pd config related.
How much RAM does your system have and how much free RAM did you have during sync?
