In my case the size of the ArrayList is only one small part of the problem. The actual problem is, that the number returned by maxPolyfillSize is way too big....

This is also a problem with maplibre-gl: https://unpkg.com/browse/[email protected]/dist/package.json

At first I didn't understand how the formula from the linked Stackexchange issue was reduced from $d^2 \over \sqrt{2 + r^2 + {1 \over r^2}}$ to $d^2 \over r$. But...
