I think this is a problem that needs to be tackled at a higher level. The reason the PDF preview does not display a blank page is becuase it fails...
That's an interesting one, but I haven't been able to reproduce this yet.
We heavily rely on autocomplete library for this feature, so we may need to investigate whether there's a simple fix for this. Btw. auto complete can be switched off completely...

As @aQaTL mentioned, those popups come from the LaTeX distribution, not from Open LaTeX Studio and it's not strictly connected with templates, but importing packages in general. Still, maybe it's...
I'd say whoever decides to pick this up should first provide their vision of that feature for our approval, either here or on the mailing list.
@hudsongeovane Sounds good, but there are some more challenges in this ticket. The PDF preview gets automatically refreshed every few seconds - if the user has got more than one...
@glandre Did the file you uploaded had the ".tex" extension? We currently only display files from Dropbox that have the ".tex" extenstion.
