I'm new with this library, but what's wrong with using System.IO.Path.GetDirectoryName("_path_to_file_")? It seems to work just fine, for me.
Well, the library is open-source..... Nothing wrong with coding up what you need and then issuing a pull-request, I suppose. I'm considering doing the same thing as the library seems...
