Your Illustrator sample looks correct to me: (except it looks like the embedded fonts are incorrect) Please type in a comment the exact string of characters that causes the issue...

But I do have Inter Display installed. I do not, however, have Adobe Illustrator so I'm viewing the .ai file in Apple Preview which may not be sourcing the correct...

If I simply type the Russian and Ukrainian alphabets, set in Inter Display ExtraBold (version 4.0 OTF), everything looks correct:  ``` АБВГДЕЁЖЗИЙКЛМНОПРСТУФХЦЧШЩЪЫЬЭЮЯ абвгдеёжзийклмнопрстуфхцчшщъыьэюя АБВГҐДЕЄЖЗИІЇЙКЛМНОПРСТУФХЦЧШЩЬЮЯ абвгґдеєжзиіїйклмнопрстуфхцчшщьюя ```

Does it happen with other fonts and/or styles? For example, Inter (non Display), Inter Variable or other styles of Inter Display, like Black

This was a very intentional change. Will probably not add this since basically no one was using it (AFAIK) and it is quite a lot of work.
