Describe the bug

I downloaded "InterDisplay-ExtraBold.ttf" version 4.0 (Nov 20, 2023) here: https://github.com/rsms/inter/releases/tag/v4.0

Invalid vertical and horizontal character position "Г" These letters do not offset the following characters: "ПРСТХ" and "й"

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Download font
2. Type Cyrillic characters

Expected behavior

In the pictures below:

• red outlines - problems with the font
• blue letters - expected result (Inter Variable is used there)

• App that renders the font: Adobe Illustrator 28.3
• Version of font: Version 4.000;git-a52131595

Additional context

Previous versions of this font did not have this problem. The problem is in version 4

Hello. Can you please be more specific about how to reproduce the issue? I.e.

• Exactly what characters are typed
• Where do you type them (specific software and its version)
• What exact font files are you using? (Variable, OTF or TTF)

I made a guess that you mean "Г next to any of the characters ПРСТХ causes layout issues", but I cannot reproduce that. Here's what I see:

Your Illustrator sample looks correct to me: (except it looks like the embedded fonts are incorrect)

Please type in a comment the exact string of characters that causes the issue for you.

The red letters in your picture are not Inter Display :)

You need to install Inter Display using my link.

But I do have Inter Display installed. I do not, however, have Adobe Illustrator so I'm viewing the .ai file in Apple Preview which may not be sourcing the correct font.

What I would like from you:

In plain text here in the issue, the exact characters you are typing (I can't select them in Apple Preview from the .ai file for some reason)

If I simply type the Russian and Ukrainian alphabets, set in Inter Display ExtraBold (version 4.0 OTF), everything looks correct:

Does it happen with other fonts and/or styles? For example, Inter (non Display), Inter Variable or other styles of Inter Display, like Black
