It should completely disable the animation, not make it jerky. For me, it works like that. There's still some time between opening the window and setting the cursor, I'll see...

I'll see if I can reproduce. It could be that one of the "cleanup" options (in the _Quotefixing_ tab) may cause this behaviour.
