Update: For some reason, if you change the TuyaDevice default version to (3, 1) in line 438 of tuya.py it magically works 100%.

That's actually an animation from Materialize css. It's always bothered me too, sidebar is getting rewritten in 0.6 to be more like a pop-out list view.

Haha you read my mind. The next card type being released in 0.6 is 'action card', which will be a collection of both buttons and text inputs.
