i can confirm the kernel modules works without patches ... I have been using on my own build. However the only way to be recognised is to have a dts...
i honestly don't understand the delay... it is an upstream kernel mod ! with so much focus in keeping openwrt adhered to upstream (and rightly so) what is this about...
"iw phy1 info" doesn't show setting bitrates as supported ... try on yours "iw phy1 info" and check the supported commands section of the output

it seems whoever has the rights to commit on this repository is gone in absence. Who can takeover this repository? or create a separate fork that Openwrt can accept?
So, I was able to recompile and make use of mixed WPA2/WP3 for a brief period I had to remove three patches 131-Revert-mac80211-aes-cmac-switch-to-shash-CMAC-driver.patch 132-mac80211-remove-cmac-dependency.patch 100-remove-cryptoapi-dependencies.patch together with adding the crypto...
any luck solving this issue ?
