Thanks for re-opening. I have the same use case for RPM versioning for SLES/OpenSUSE-based RPMs.
Agree that the current behavior is counter-intuitive at best. I think the `helm.sh/hook-source` annotation would be sufficient for my needs and those listed in this ticket, and would be backwards...
