The mono aiff with SDX2 plays fine here, maybe your ffplay/SDL is broken, you could also build with mpv with librempeg support and retest.
LOL, I was not aware that file was longer than it currently plays.
That is completely different format (non-raw) with signatures apparently. But there is 0 documentation how to use it.
