I would suggest to use [scipy.spatial.distance.pdist](https://docs.scipy.org/doc/scipy/reference/generated/scipy.spatial.distance.pdist.html) instead of your `distance` module. This will give you access to a large collection of distances (euclidean, minkowski, cityblock, cosine, correlation, hamming, jaccard, mahalanobis...)...

I just want to mention that `scipy` provide an implementation of [maxflow](https://docs.scipy.org/doc/scipy/reference/generated/scipy.sparse.csgraph.maximum_flow.html#scipy.sparse.csgraph.maximum_flow)

I observe the same behavior on Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS with Zulip Desktop Version: 5.9.5
