first simple workflow would be looking into your jwt.txt and deleting everything not needed by hashcat like comments and so on when looking into the module 16500 you will see...

or is this a problem with wrong output of ssh2john? after some googling i found this jtr issue https://github.com/openwall/john/issues/4069 the problem seems to be ssh switching aes256-ctr and -aes256-cbc

ah indeed, this should also apply to all binary inputs like true and veracrypt so maybe this option should only apply to plain text hashes
