I hang my timer from a tree branch and easily reach 20m to where we sit. I'm sure it would go further.

I presume soldering on a better antenna would improve things a lot

Sounds like a very useful feature. Was surprised when I couldn't run a race for x minutes, with the number of laps and lap times reported.
