I checked this issues running on iOS 7.1 (built with 7.1 SDK). Here it works fine so I guess something changed in 8. I will try to figure it out...
For me the issue was that the android bundle name was not the same as the one configured in firebase. These 2 must match. Quite obvious when you think about...
We also had this in production. The root cause is, like the message says, a "Sharing violation", you are trying to access the file while it is being in use....
