This is quite old, but I believe is now solved with @alfredkanzler 's B-PIPE application-name code. There are still functions w/o support for identity objects, but that's a separate issue....
As to how, I'm not much help. I assume it might be better exposed via RDCOM? But for the long processing, I agree that it should not be turned on...
