It happens and is a use case I need to figure out (two ranger frames). Just to clarify, would you like opening the file just focus the existing buffer window...
I like the idea of working it that way. Will look into persp-mode and Spacemacs layouts to see if I can work it in.
I don't have strikethroughs at all on mine. Is there some other dired package you have installed?
