I've got a similar issue (mine's with a Samsung usb-c to 3.5mm adaptor). I _think_ that setting volume boost (even to a very low value like 0.2) has fixed it.
Hmm. I think it's improved it but not fixed it. A fix probably would involve Voice injecting some very low volume noise into silences to avoid the headset turning off.
