My experience is slightly different. 1 is always off, starting with 2 it gets better. 
It looks like prescribed motion can only be created for joints that are in the parent assemblies. It doesn't take joints in subassemblies into consideration.
That and it seems that Rack/Pinion et al. are not supported yet
Happens even on 600% for me.

@tobiasfalk I could be talking out of my arse, but I vaguely recall that @sliptonic and @shaise were in agreement that the unfolder shoud definitely be part of the core...
@barracuda156 Frédéric did some cleanup on top of that, but I wouldn't be able to tell how much of that was Qt5-specific. I'm not a great makeshift project maintainer, sorry.
