Using "skipped" as commit status returns HTTP 400 Bad Request

this may be because "skipped" is not a valid GitLab status. GitLab commit status can have the following values: running pending success failed cancelled

gitlabCommitStatus returns 404 when branch name contains dot ('.')

This is because GitLab treats dots in branch names as a separator between the project namespace and the branch name, which can cause issues with the API endpoint.
