Saw the same problem on Linux Mint 18.3. Could install the dependency with a `apt-get install -f`.

Any progress on this ? We are using mtail based metrics to detect anomalies. However, we currently hitting https://github.com/prometheus/prometheus/issues/1673. We would not hit this problem if the metric would be...
