Python 3 support

With Django 1.5 out and Django 1.6 to be released this year, it might be nice to start converting the app to include Python 3 support.

I know that's the right thing to do and I'll leave this open. But we have a large code base that depends on python 2.x code and we don't have the time to go for that right now. Perhaps we'll convert while developing an actual project in Python 3. Of course contributions are always welcome! :)
