Is it time to make astropy less complicated?! We cannot pin Sphinx forever.

I don't remember any mention of overlapping issue when we did pydata-sphinx-theme transition in `astropy`. Even if we did, probably won't fix `pyoof`?

Will #169 fix this too?

This appears to be an issue still. I am unable to install scikit-image in Python 3.11 on Windows. `pip install scikit-image --pre` works but that also requires me to install...

@stefanv , correct, the pre-release installs fine. I see that RCs are actively being pushed. Good luck in the release!
