One additional proposed metadata field: * default_value (float): what a constituent will default to if not on the initial data file
@dustinswales @mkavulich I vote for targeting `develop` as is, but, if this needs to get into `main` soon, we should make this the "event" that triggers a PR from `develop`...

@jimmielin good point! I suppose this is more complicated than I originally thought.
For now at least, it will just be host model use. It'll be up to the host model to add `_after_dynamics` if necessary (so, I guess just a base name...
