thanks for investigating! However, given that the config dialog itself is optional (only compiled if Xaw is installed) and requires X11, I would rather drop Xaw from the list of...

try setting this to 1 https://github.com/OGRECave/ogre/blob/3f0a656c7065f4167ad4d9d5fcbfbe6baa569aee/RenderSystems/Vulkan/src/OgreVulkanRenderSystem.cpp#L55 there should be some output of what is going wrong

the error seem to be unrelated to the visual artifact. My guess would be that this is something with how we do `HBL_DISCARD` on Vulkan. However all works for me...

to further help debug this, you could try getting a https://renderdoc.org/ capture of a broken frame.

I have just updated the ogre snap https://snapcraft.io/ogre such that it works with mesa vulkan drivers. could you check whether it produces the same errors for you?
