Here it is. Not sure how useful this might be. The app didn't fully freeze or lock up, but it was taking 90% of my CPU for several minutes after...
I turned the OpenGL renderer on hoping it would be more CPU efficient. In both cases, scrolling around a small map at 200% scale maxes out a CPU core easily....

IMHO, you should probably ping the maintainers. I'm just an observer.
It's still a problem. While I hate to add nothing of value with my comment, I don't want to see issues like these closed just because no one is working...
