I'm glad I found this thread and that this is on the roadmap! Tried connecting manually over https to a remote emby server all night yesterday without luck.
..or even in real time using events generated by the PostgreSQL NOTIFY command passed to a websocket in Hajk. There is a postgres extension for this: https://github.com/CrunchyData/pg_eventserv
