No clipboard dialog when editing text fields on existing features in iOS

What is the bug or the crash? What were your expectations and what actually happened?

When editing a text field on a form of an existing feature it is not possible to display the operating system's standard clipboard dialog. This is a fault that occurs on iOSPad 26.

The expectation is that a tap & hold or double tap & hold will activate the clipboard dialog. The clipboard dialog starts to appear sometimes and then vanishes.

The fault does not occur with new features - the clipboard dialog appears as normal.

A video demonstrating the fault is attached.

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Edit existing feature that has text fields in the form. The text fields I've tested against do not have any expression checks - just free text.
  2. Attempt to copy / paste or select a section of the existing text by activating the operating system clipboard dialog.

A sample project has been attached. The points layer is called 'things' and has two text fields called 'what' and 'sure'. The data is in the UK: Epsom, south of London, EPSG:3857.

Reinstall QField

  • [x] I have a fresh install of the latest QField version, but the problem persists.
  • [x] Problem can be reliably reproduced, doesn't happen randomly.
  • [x] Problem happens with all files and projects, not only some files or projects.

Additional context

It might be key - but it is worth knowing that the fault does not occur with new features. If there is a different class of form being used for new features compared to existing features that might be a clue to why they are behaving differently.
