My fix was to move the entry box to the top of the dialog and change the drop-down to it didn't extend beyond the bounds of dialog, then to remove...

Sure, but again I guess it's use-case dependent. For me, all subscribers would have the same requirements, so having it set by the publisher for all subscribers would be fine....
