my C2 plays hevc aka h265 but only if you use srt/ass aka text based subtitles, PSG aka image based does not work
have you tried turning mpv off in settings?
go to https://github.com/jarnedemeulemeester/findroid/actions/runs/20275229219 and at the bottum you will find latest as of today build
FYI try disable mpv as that seem to not work with dovi atm
