Starting from https://github.com/wch/r-source/blob/f421a17bd4fb559674a760667c088bdc5aa8093c/src/library/tools/R/check.R#L5550 I could deactivate the size check both in the build configuration on Appveyor or directly in `appveyor.yml`. Hi Radford, yes, I would also see the highest value in having a kind of "binary" that people can just try out. A lot simpler than running different R versions...
