There is also this [wsl-distrod](https://github.com/nullpo-head/wsl-distrod). It automatically starts systems when wsl boots. So far, I have not encountered any problems which I encountered with genie or other such tools.

That is probably because of the windows 10's latest feature update (i read it somewhere). Uninstalling it might solve the problem. I am not facing it though.

Did you try uninstalling windows 10's latest feature update?
