@christianknoepfle sounds reasonable. We already have a [test for `keepUndefinedRows`](https://github.com/nightscape/spark-excel/blob/b538c01bd1fb0f752a2ee2b888cab87326cf2053/src/test/scala/dev/mauch/spark/excel/v2/KeepUndefinedRowsSuite.scala#L91), you could extend that and then fix the implementation.

Same on MacOS. I just tried the gradient example and it gives me a dark gray background instead of becoming transparent.
