I noticed this as well, it contradicts with this [post](http://nvie.com/posts/a-successful-git-branching-model/#incorporating-a-finished-feature-on-develop) Is there a config setting for making it default to 'git merge --no-ff'?

Installing dconf-cli on linux mint 18 makes it work correctly but on ubuntu MATE 16.04 doesn't even create multiple `Default` profiles.
