The above would work. I don't think it's a particularly good use of Elixir protocols to achieve the desired effect though. Ideally the correct metadata (module attributes) could be put...

And they should be wrapped by OTP.

Actually, bridges should become clients of gen_servers, and command execution should be a call to the gen_server so it can be supervised.
