The new rive renderer does not use flutter canvas, it uses it's own render texture. In the pictured demo you can optionally run it with the old flutter/canvas renderer instead...

I got this error with wegl2 then tested with webgl-advanced 2.21.3 and I get the same error however canvas-advanced 2.21.3 works fine. keen to start using the new renderer but...
