Can you make sure that the material icon fonts are installed? https://github.com/mylinuxforwork/dotfiles/tree/main/setup/fonts/Material-Icons Should be done by the setup.sh script automatically. But maybe there is an issue.

The new folder is .mydotfiles Please cd into .config and run ls -al to see if the symlinks are installed correctly to the new folder.
You’re running it in a VM? What do you mean with browser window opened?
Thanks for the detailed description. Did you run the setup script that is offered after downloading the dotfiles by the Dotfiles Installer? This will install all dependencies.
