Well, some users care obviously as shown by this issue, so consider implementing this yourself as qtile is open source. Personally, I just switched to sway. All options you listed...
AUR repository is in a detached HEAD state so it's not possible to update paru with paru, or with using git pull in a previously cloned repository.
