The fact that Dapr completely configures and manages the underlying OkHttpClient and gRPC client also prevents frameworks like Spring, OpenTelemetry etc. to do automatic instrumentation of those clients. I guess...

I think this is (also) covered in #688. My TL;DR: Dapr is not designed to have the sidecar running on a different machine than the application it serves.
