@tarsius Sorry for the "sadistic" bit. It's just my sense of humor, not an attack. I should not do this to people I do not know well.

Hey @brandonchinn178, I like the idea of `liftConsumer`, I think it is a nice escape hatch and it would solve the extensibility concern once and for all. Should its type...

I'd say that the probability of adding a new primitive has always been extremely low, but with #514 landing it is now 0.

It looks like I added a note about this in 2a460744305c60d34b47296681108cb354172530 but forgot to close the issue.

Closing, since #514 now makes it possible to define new primitives as needed.
